Memebox Mini #1 Review

I did a detailed explanation of MEMEBOX in my first box post here.

This is the 1st of 3 mini Memeboxes they released so far. These boxes are supposed to contain 3-6 beauty product samples and foil packets from Korea. I had to try this box since it was only $15 including shipping and I also purchased another as a gift for my friend. This box looks a lot like a Sample Society box or Birchbox.

Product details: This super hydrating cream lasting for over 72 hours is made from purely ceramide and arugula extracts. Frist, ceramide is one of the three main components of our skin cells and works to protect our skin and prevent moisture from escaping. The arugula extracts also create a protective barrier over your skin for strengthening and reviving healthier looking complexion.

Please excuse the cat fur lol This is a repeat from one of my lucky boxes and I kind of wish they brought something new and exciting in for the first mini box.

This is a very rich cream that left my face feeling slightly greasy but I’m hoping it will help with my dry patches. You only need a very small amount so this may last longer than I thought.

2.Hanskin Bio Origin Royal Ampoule BB spf 30 PA++ 5ml

Value: $9

Product Description:An entire bottle full of nutrition of an ampoule, this highly enriched Ampoule BB offers strengthening skincare effects as well as anti-wrinkle functions. Packed with extracts from royal jelly and tabebuia avellaneda, it will deliver rich nutrition and deep relief to your skin. Its light, oil-based texture will glide on your skin as if wrapping the skin with silk or velvet for a much brightening, glowing complexion.

I love that even though its a tiny sample they still put it in a glass dropper. Its so cute and when I finish all the BB cream I can fill the dropper with something else. ^.^

3. A true Black Tea All day long Sun cream 10ml

Value: $7.80

Product description: Made from Ronde Du Soleil Blending of black tea, orange zest and cinnamon, This long-lasting sun cream will protect,soothe and hydrate your skin all day long.

This has a strong floral fragrance that I just can’t stand and I wouldn’t put anything with this much fragrance on my face. I’ll probably just give this to my mom since she loves floral scents. 
4.Botanic Hill Boh Moist Radiant Youth Ampoule Essence 5ml &

Product decryption:Botanic Hill’s Popular moist youth & radiant youth ampoule essences will work to nullify signs of fine wrinkles and to brighten up your overall skin tone for a younger looking, more radiant complexion. 

These were also a repeat from a past box. These smell like rose and I usually don’t like floral scents but so far it isn’t too overpowering. 5.Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer 3ml

Value:$3.90

Product Description:The Perfect Primer for oily skin types, Verikos ultra matte velvet primer will softly yet thoroughly smooth out your uneven skin texture covering and filling in all visible pores and fine lines on your face. It also helps maintain moisture/oil balance and evens out your complexion with vitamin A and Vitamin E ingredients.

I love the way this primer feels so silky.

They also Sent me 2 foil packets of Witch’s Pouch Real skin Moisture Ampoule base.

This item wasn’t listed on the information card but I think its just a moisturizing serum you can use before make-up.

The mini box has a total value of $33.20. Everything in this box was no bigger than my pinky and although it was only $15 I think I’ll just stick to the regular memeboxes. I wish they would have included at least one deluxish sample because this box lacked excitement. I thought since the regular memeboxes usually have a crazy value then the mini boxes would too.  Maybe If your new to memebox and just want to try out some korean goodies then this mini box is perfect especially if you use your points.

Nerdblock Review ~ May 2014

This brush is a bit rough but I kind of like it. It gets the job done and thats all I need.

I was so excited to try a pacifica eyeshadows but they let me down. The white side is shimmery with small specks of glitter and the purple, grayish side has almost no pigment at all. Murad T-zone Pore Refining Serum .125 fl oz

I don’t know why I thought that this item would have more of a silicon texture but it feels like a serum should. Its a clear liquid and the directions say to massage it into entire face + neck.

Dermalogica Dynamic skin recovery with spf 30  .34 fl oz

Value $13 

Its made without artificial fragrances or colors which I love! It smells like sunscreen and goes on really light.

Juice Beauty Stem cell repair CC cream in Natural Glow .17 fl oz

Value $3.90

This smells very natural but it smells more herbal and grassy than some of the other organic products I’ve tried. It also has SPF 30 which is perfect for the sunny California weather.

 Borghese Fango Body Refreshing Polish .5 oz

Value $3.00

This is the biggest sample in the box this month and its the first thing I reached for when I opened the box.  I opened it to smell it and  I noticed that its used! I sent customer service a message and they responded within 30 min telling me that they would send me a new box. There were very nice and fast when helping me solve this situation. This a sugar based exfoliant and it has a fresh orange scent.

Sonya Dakar Flash Facial .4 fl oz

Value $38

This is one Gwyneth Paltrow’s favorite products and its so expensive. Its $95 for 1oz! Its supposed to have instantly remove dead skin and brighten. The directions say to use daily but its such a small size that it would cost a fortune to do this everyday for a month.

Although this months box has a lot of high end brands that I’ve been wanting to try, I wish that it had at least one big sample. These are all quite small and compared to last month great box this was kind of a disappointment. This months total value is $60.53 but it doesn’t seem like it when I look at everything.

Like most masks you just have to apply these to your under eye area after toner and leave it on for 15-20 min. Tip: Pour a bit of hot water into a small cup and place your used gel strips inside of the water so they could melt down. Then you can use the liquid essence to moisturize  your body.

LJH brand again! I love trying new tea tree products so this will be the first mask I use. Plus it helps brighten dark spots and I need all the help I can get. I think the products Ive been using are actually starting to fade my dark spots but I won’t believe it until they are gone.

4. Mask Sheets Bio Medi-Curing Mask-Aqua Dressing 20ml ~ Value $3

Coconut Bio Mask with Tomato 20ml ~ Value $3

This is a 100% coconut jelly mask combines with the super food: Tomato! Similarly, this mask gives your skin a “cool” feeling. It also dramatically reduces the appearance of any wrinkles.

I received these masks in my Luckybox #2 but I still haven’t tried them.  I was given a tip by Joanne Mallon on  my lucky box 2 post that the jelly mask is actually hidden in-between two sheet.

5. Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack ~ Value $3

Product Description

This ultra-hydrating gel patch  was specifically designed for the lips. It intensely moisturizes and nourishes your lips – preparing it for any make up application. 

Ive never seen a lip mask before but this will come in handy when I have really chapped lips. Although it looks like it might be kind of uncomfortable to have a patch over your mouth for 20 minutes. They actually sell this brand of masks at my local Japanese market.

6. Purederm Exfoliating Foot mask ~ Value $17

Product Description

Purederm Exfoliating Foot Mask is a foot exfoliant and treatment that comes in the form of a pair of wearable masks that work just like socks. It Removes all calluses, visibly smoothing your feet within 2 weeks. Papaya, Lemon, apple, orange and other natural botanical extracts help remove calluses, while chamomile extract calms freshly exfoliated feet.

How to use

• Thoroughly cleanse your feet and put on the masks
• Remove after 60-90 minutes and rinse of with water
• Calluses start peeling off 4-7 days after use. Nearly all calluses will be removed in a further 3-5 days depending on the thickness. Do not use a callus remover or pick on calluses when they start peeling off. 

Im so excited to try this! I actually saw these type of masks online and I wanted to try them but didnt want to pay shipping on just one item. I really hope these work because it would be so amazing!

The Mask Box has a total value of $100 but I think its a little inflated. I found the gold eye patches on ebay for no more than $20 so if that is the case then the actual value is around $70. Thats still a high value considering I only payed around $17 because of my points. This box usually would cost $23 plus shipping. I love the deals that I get with Memebox!

I’ll try to post reviews on all these products after I use them but I like to save masks for the days I have time to relax and take a bath. I will definitely be posting an update for the foot exfoliator since it promises the most dramatic results.

1. Dr.Jart V7 Eye Serum ~ Value $38

This Eye serum helps treat common darkness and puffiness. It was made of a complex of 7 vitamins, A, B3, B5, C, E, H,and F. Its supposed to brighten the skin and get rid of dark circles. I actually have the worst dark circles and I received two bottles of this {in lucky box #2 & #3} so I’ll be able to really test this out. This has no fragrance and so far I really like it!

2.Lanoa Natural Soap Sulfer 100g ~ This is full size and the Value is $12

Product Description 

This handmade soap is made from natural ingredients including 100% natural sulfur, Shea butter, chamomile and lavender. It is specially designed for sensitive and dry skin. It deeply nourishes, hydrates, and protects skin. This product is free of surfactants, hardeners, preservatives and any artificial fragrances. 

Its like this soap was specially made for me! Im really excited to try this and I hope all the claims are true. This is meant to be a face wash and It smells like most other natural products do. {Like plants and citrus}
3. LJH Dr’s care Vita Propolis Ampoule 5ml ~ Value $8.67

Product Description

The perfect combination of propolis and vitamins naturally enhances and improves your facial luminosity. The high concentrate of propolis in the ampoule hydrates, soothes and protects your skin. This product has been dermatologically tested for sensitive skin. 

How to use

Apply 2-3 drops on your face after moisturizer. It is highly recommended that you use this product in conjunction with a facial moisturizer or nourishing essence. 

I like the  Tea tree essence by LJH that I received in my lucky box #2 so I’m hoping that this is just as good. Its such a tiny sample that I’m not sure if I’ll actually be able to tell if it works or not from just using 5ml. I do like that even though its a baby sample that it still comes with a glass dropper.

4. Ryoe Jayang Yunmo Anti-hairloss hair pack 100ml ~ Value $5.33

Product Description

This Hair pack prevents against hair loss as it includes a high concentration of herbal extracts. The oriental herbal extracts will keep both your scalp and hair healthy and hydrated without leaving it oily. 
5. HeartFace Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack 20ml ~ Value $9.80

Product Description

Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack that keeps your skin moisturized all night long. Additionally, it minimizes your pores and controls sebum production while your asleep.

The Jar is slightly larger than a quarter but I think I can squeeze a months use out of it. It does have a fragrance but its not overpowering which is good since you will have to sleep with this on. It absorbs well into your skin and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy afterwards. Ive actually tried BOSCIA sleep mask and I found it was so greasy that lint was sticking to my face. { Ewww! }

6. Derma:B Daily Moisture Body Lotion 100ml ~ Value $4

Product Description

Derma:B daily moisture body lotion provides 24-hour hydration, leaving skin feeling both softer and smoother. Also, the natural ingredients of phytoncide calms irritated skin. 

I tried a tiny bit of this on my hands just now and even though it mentions that it contains natural ingredients, it doesn’t smell like it. The Lanoa soap smells natural and pleasant but this has a perfume scent. For those of you who don’t mind the fragrance then from the small amount I tested it doesn’t feel overly greasy. Ill be passing this along to someone else since I can’t stand the scent.

7. Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream 10ml ~ Value $3.17

Product Description

This Ultra-hydrating cream not only hydrates the skin but also enhances the water-holding capacity of the skin, thanks to its powerful hydrating ingredients “ceramide” 

This sample is probably smaller than a quarter and in the second picture I show that the bottom is hollowed out slightly. I wouldn’t consider this a deluxe sample and I would have preferred a bigger sample of this instead of the Derma:B lotion. The full size versions of both creams cost about the same amount anyway.

8. Miguhara B.P Cream 3ml x 2 ~ Value $3.70 each

Product Description 

This Dual-function cream serves both as a BB cream as well as a primer. It keeps skin silky and even-tones, while controlling excessive sebum through its oil-free formula.

I actually really like this because it feels like it just disappears into the skin and it gives a light coverage. The only downside is that you only get a small amount of product in these tiny samples. As you can see from the second photo, the product fills up less than half of the tube and that was before I opened it. This will only be enough product for maybe less than a week.

9.  Flower Men Energy Factory Moist Boosting Sheet Mask- Hyaluronic Acid 25g ~ Value $4 each

Product Description 

A super moist mask sheet that contains concentrated Hyaluronic acid plus its as big as PSY’s face, meaning double the pampering. 

How to use 

After apply toner, place mask sheet over your face evenly 

Remove sheet after 15-20 min

The mask is folded up in the bottom part of the Psy face and the rest is just empty. I was actually playing around with it. [You can poke out the eyes and pretend to be Psy lol ] I haven’t gotten around to using one of these since I just received this yesterday but I can’t wait to try it, I just hope its not too big.

This box had a total value of $96.37. I didnt pay much for this box either, maybe only $15 because of my points. This box would usually cost $23 plus around $7 shipping. Luckybox #3 had a lot of small samples and a few of them definitely weren’t deluxe. Although I can’t complain because I didnt pay much for it and even If I did pay full price the eye cream alone would more than cover the cost of the box.

 I Love Memebox ❤ and my next box is already on its way! Its going to be a Mask only Box! They already released a spoiler: Keyskin’s Gold Hydro Gel Eye & Spot Patch.

1. Espoir Lip Gloss 4.4g ~ Value $15

You were randomly sent either the lip gloss or the lipstick in this box. I received the lip gloss in the color pk002 magic hour.  Its like a nude/mauve color and at first I didn’t think I would like it but it looks really nice on. I kinda wish I would have received the lipstick instead but It actually worked out in this case. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable on and they sent a very wearable color so I’m happy.
2.Dr.G Bio-RTx Mentor Cream 20 ml ~ Value $14

I don’t know how this ended up being a popular item because it has so much fragrance. It smells exactly like my Living Proof Perfect Hair day hair styling treatment. I try to stay away from heavy fragrances in my skin care. For this item you were randomly sent either #3 which is for oily skin, #7  for damaged skin, or # 5 for dry skin. Memebox should have a profile to fill out so we can have more customized boxes. I’ll probably give this away since I have dry skin and this is specifically for oily skin.

This may be my favorite item in the entire box! It definitely hydrates  and I’m actually hoping it will brighten my skin. I have a couple of dark patches that I’m hoping to get rid of. This absorbs almost instantly and doesn’t have any greasy residue left over. Everyone knows that tea tree helps treat acne so even if all it does is treat acne and hydrate my skin then its a win. 
5. Nuganic Customized Sunblock Fresh SPF50pa+++ 40ml ~ Value $45

The first thing I noticed is that its only about half full and this is the full sized product. It was sealed but its hard to believe that anyone would pay $45 dollars for half of a tiny bottle of sunscreen. It also smells almost as bad as the Mentor cream. This Sunscreen claims to be a 3-in-1 sun protector with brightening and anti wrinkle properties. Im not going to totally dismiss this item until I try it and I will write an update as soon as I finish it.

6. Miseenscene 2X curl Essence 30ml ~ Value $2

This is a leave in conditioner treatment that is supposed to provide volume and help dry damaged hair. you only need a small amount and you could apply this to damp or dry hair. I don’t see myself going out of my way to try and order this from Korea in the future. It does help tame frizz and hydrate but so does Its a 10 leave in conditioner.
7. Mask Sheets Bio Medi-Curing Mask-Aqua Dressing 20ml ~ Value $3

This mask hydrates and moisturizes  your skin to the fullest. It is a 100% coconut jelly mask, which gives your skin a “cool” feeling it also dramatically reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

I love face masks and I really can’t wait to try the Bio Medi-curing mask because its supposed to be hydrating and my dry skin needs all the hydration it can get.I also like that these are both made with coconut jelly because they sound like they are going to smell amazing and natural.

After I finish a couple of these products Ill make a detailed post of my thoughts.

They also sent me a cheat sheet with details on all the items they sent this month but while reading it I noticed a couple of misspelled words. It also said that the mentor cream was supposed to be applied to your hair when its clearly for your skin. I wish they would take more time writing these since this is the only way I’ll know the details about each product because most of the packaging is in Korean.

So far I really like Memebox and I think its so fun to try out new products which I usually wouldn’t be able to find on my own. Its also really affordable which is a plus because its hard to try new skincare products when they usually cost $50+. I feel like I may have already found a couple of favorite items in this box so far and I look forward to seeing whats inside my other boxes.

Memebox For Him GQ #1

This is the Memebox Mens Edition GQ! It Includes 4 Full sized items and 5 Deluxe samples. Memebox is a Korean company that curates boxes based on different themes.

They Have 5 types of boxes Superboxes, Mini boxes, Naked, Memeboxes & lucky boxes. Regular Memeboxes usually have a high total value and they are a random assortment of beauty/skincare items. They Include Full sizes with a couple of deluxe sized samples (4-9 products total). Regular Memeboxes are always $23.

SuperBoxes are Usually brand themed or themed to specific beauty needs. They include all full sizes and range $32 – $7o. you don’t usually get as much bang for your buck with these.

Lucky Boxes are a way for people who just discovered Memebox to try the most popular items from past boxes. Usually Memeboxes sell out in days so this lets customers try Items they missed out on. Usually cost $23.

Mini Boxes were just released a couple of weeks ago. Its supposed to include 3-6 Deluxe samples and pouch samples. This box only costs $15 including shipping.

Naked Boxes are also a new type of box they just released which is only accessible if you were sent an email with a special link. These naked boxes aren’t a mystery like all of the other boxes. They list every item that will be included in the box and these usually cost $23. They released 7 of these boxes in a week and they sold out in hours.

Every Box is a mystery except the naked box and they sometimes release spoilers on there Facebook page. They don’t charge you automatically like most Subscription box companies. You get to pick and choose which boxes you would like to purchase and which you want to skip. Usually you have to preorder them in advanced since they sell out so quickly. I have to warn you that Memeboxes are really addicting because they have a great value and they help you explore the best Korean products. 🙂

This Item smells natural and citrusy but still masculine.

Mowell Character Freeze Wax 100g {Value $18} Full size

Product Description 

       This wax provides strong yet flexible hold for a textual effect and definition of detail. you’ll get strong hold, shine, separation and sleekness. 

How to use

       Spread through fingers, work through hair and style. Layer wax onto hair for a modern gel look with added strong hold.

This is the only item in the box that doesn’t smell masculine at all. It has a peach scent.

This Box was $29.99 plus $6.99 for shipping and handling. I had a free shipping coupon and 5 dollars off so I only payed $24.99. Memebox is constantly giving out coupons and discounts through there points system. This had an incredible Total Value of $129.89 that more than 5X more than I payed. 🙂

I Cant wait to receive the women’s  Memebox so I could actually try the products.

Influenster ~ Viva Vox Box

Influenster is a great site that gives you points for doing surveys and reviews on products. Once you collect a certain amount of points they send you Free boxes with products to try. Once you receive your box you will have to share it on social media and review all the products. Its really easy and its one of the few legit sites for free goodies!

Pure Ice Nail polish in “Its Complicated” & “Afterhours” {$1.69}

I love both of these colors so much. I just had my nails done so I won’t be posting swatches for another couple of days.

 Cetaphil Gently Cleansing Clothes 25 count Ultra soft {$5.99}

Today was my first time using these and it removed all my make up perfectly without any greasy residue. I can’t tell if it removes waterproof makeup since I don’t use any but it worked well on my regular make-up and my lip stain. Ill continue to use them and update this when I’ve tried them a few more times. Right now I use Neutrogena cleansing wipes in pink grapefruit and I can’t live without them.

Vaseline Spray & go Moisturizer {$7.99}

I love these commercials where the girl sprays the lotion all over and jumps into her clothes. 🙂 I was curious about this product but I never purchased it because I have a million lotions. Im always on the hunt for a lotion that is weightless and non-greasy. I can’t stand being greasy and sticky especially on hot days.

This should be the new way to apply lotion! I Love how fast it is to apply and it really does absorb in seconds. If you apply it just like the girl does in the commercial then you will have the perfect amount to moisturize your body without excess like you would if you were guessing the amount with the tube lotions. It comes in 3 different scents which are cocoa butter, aloe vera & oat. If they came out with a coconut scent I would be in love!

NYC Proof twistable intense lip color {$2.99}

I’ve heard a lot of rave reviews about these Nyc twistable intense lip colors. I was curious about this product because its so cheap but I probably won’t buy this again. It isn’t a color I would choose for myself and when I wear a dark color I prefer it to be a stain. It smudges easily and Im always so scared that this hot pink color will end up smeared on my cheek or teeth.

The color is “south ferry berry” and the tube is a ruby red but when applied its more of a dark magenta.

The first drugstore mask I tried were the Freeman masks and they were the worst masks ever. I may have been allergic to the cucumber one because my face broke out in 1000 little bumps right after taking it off and the Dead sea mask smelled so purfumey that I had to wash my face 3 times afterward because the smell was bothering me so much.

Montagne Jeunesse Honey peel off mask

After that experience I was a scared to try these peel masks because I thought they would be the same. I read up on it a bit before applying it and it contains a lot of natural ingredients. It looks and smells almost completely like sweet honey. It dries clear with a slight yellow tint and peels off dead skin and blackheads. Its not a miracle product but its perfect to gently clear skin once a week and it only costs $2.49.
